Welcome, Dr. Marc Aidinoff, who will join us for the 2024–2025 academic year as a Postdoctoral Associate.
Marc is a historian of twentieth-century science, technology, and the state, currently finishing a book on Rebooting Liberalism: The Computerization of the Social Contract from 1974 to 2004. He is a graduate of MIT’s HASTS PhD program and will start as Assistant Professor of the History of Technology at Harvard next year.
Some of you may know Marc from his recent stint as Chief of Staff and Senior Advisor in the Biden-Harris White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, where he helped lead a team of 150 policymakers on key initiatives including the Blueprint for an AI Bill of Rights, guidance to ensure federally funded research is publicly accessible, and reigniting the Cancer Moonshot.
At the clinic, Marc will work on the Shady Subjects workshop and support a number of projects with his expertise as both a historian and policy expert. You can read more about Marc’s background here.
